Ipoh is known for food and the hills, not so much on theme parks (except perhaps the Sunway Lost World of Tambun) . Not until recently, when Movie Animation Park Studios (MAPS) had their soft launch on 26th June 2017, now Ipoh can boast that it has 2 theme parks and Ipoh as a tour destination, can be very favourable for family with kids.
MAPS is situated slightly outskirt of Ipoh, It is about 20 minutes drive from Ipoh city centre and it is actually right next to Aman Jaya Bus Terminal (The central bus station of Ipoh ) . The whole theme park cost RM520 million (S$168 million) and construction started 3 years ago in 2014;
Since this is a soft launch where not all facilities are operational, the prices are promotional now and you can refer to their official website for more info.
It is the first animation-centred theme park in not just Malaysia, but also throughout Asia. The size of the theme park is 8 hectares , slightly less than half the size of Universal Studio Singapore.

Blast Off Zone
Interactive animated LIVE shows at The Smurfs Theatre, to The Wormhole Technologies, you're bound to find something fascinating up your alley. Other attraction includes The Adventurers Bumper Blast and The Smurf's Party Land.
Dream Zone
Immerse yourself entirely into the worlds of your favorite animated films and series, both old and new. Attraction includes Dream Theatre, Mr Peabody & Sherman Time adventure , Mega mind Mega Drop Tower , Casper Birthday Blast.
Fantasy Forest Zone
Suitable for kids ages 3 to 12 . They can embark on a mystical journey of ancient civilisations in the Cave of Wonders, or marvel at the gravity-defying Upside Down Pyramid.
They can also climb as high as The Adventurers HQ Treehouse to discover knowledge about the universe, or dive deep into the magical marine-themed Coral Kingdom Indoor Playground.
Lake Side Zone
This rides here are more gravity defying rides , and that includes, Space X-plorers, Hyperspin and Asteroid Attack.
Live Action Zone
This area is where you can hear engines roar while you hold on tightly to your seat, calming your beating heart as our crew stun you with their car and bike stunts, LIVE show in a custom-built arena
